Tub is included with elephant. A very fine, all original pair of Schoenhut figures featuring the more desirable bisque heads and original elaborate outfits.

Contained in lot is also a chair and a wooden pedestal. A highly sought after Schoenhut animal utilized not only in the circus, but in the Teddy Roosevelt Safari as well.

A life-like depiction, this fellow has a mask face with great detailing to facial features. A finely painted, painted eye dapple horse with original platform and an early bisque headed acrobat with an elaborate costume.

Lot also contains two chairs and a tub. A finely carved painted eye bactrian camel needs to be restrung and a painted eye dromedary camel.

Includes a carved mane buffalo, brown bear and a carved mane lion. These three pieces are in very fine plus condition. Also includes an elephant and a donkey in good condition.

Elephant lacking rubber tip to trunk. Lot includes four painted eye animals: brown bear, hippo, poodle and brown horse with saddle, and a glass eyed donkey.

Brown bear and poodle are in very fine condition. Hippo very good.

Horse and donkey are in fair to good paint. This lot contains three reduced size painted eye animals: carved hair buffalo some paint loss to carved hair manecarved mane lion and a donkey.

Also included are five chairs, a barrel and a tub. Lot contains various chairs, pedestals, tubs, barrels, etc. This particular figure is a lifelike depiction of Teddy Roosevelt himself.

Replacement rifle. Glass eyed rhino with ultra-realistic carving as well as painting to simulate the real animal, this fellow has a partially open mouth.

The dromedary camel, although quite simplistic in its carving, is most realistic in nature and finely painted.

Perhaps the most elusive and hardest of the Safari figures to obtain, this fellow retains his original clothing, cape, head wrapping and beard.

Although his accessory pieces sword, pistol and rifle are of newer vintage they are not a distraction to the importance of this figure. The native himself appears to be a very fine all original example.

However, the jug he carries upon his head is of newer vintage. Schoenhut created certain animals that most people will never see in their lifetime. The zebu is one such animal with extreme chiseled features, not only to his head, but his body as well.

Another one of the more difficult animals in the Safari set to find. Another fine example of a safari member traveling with Teddy in search of big game.

This Safari member is in all original untouched condition. However, his stringing is quite loose. Replacement rifle and helmet. In the earlier collecting days the gorilla was one of the most sought after and prized pieces of any Schoenhut collection.

One of a few animals only produced with painted eyes, this fellow has quite an expressive and highly detailed facial features. Lot includes a very fine plus glass eyed elephant, a leopard with an open mouth and ball neck in very fine plus condition, and a zebra in very fine plus condition.

A rare figure from the Safari set. As typical with all Safari members, they have mask faces. He retains his original loin cloth and fancy cloth collar and a rifle of newer vintage.

This piece appears to be in all original, untouched condition. Some moth hole damage to felt coat. Perhaps one of the most difficult of all the Schoenhut animals to find, especially in this condition.

Often the glass eyed hyena is found in the hand painted version and not the airbrushed version, such as this model. Typical of any company of the time, they would mix and match and produce whatever was needed or ordered by the distributor, toy store or customer.

A rare figure in the Safari set and is difficult to find. This fellow, with molded mustache and goatee has had some restoration to his mask face.

His khaki outfit appears to have been replaced some time ago. Accessories of newer vintage. A native with a jug upon his head and a spear in his hand accompanied the Roosevelt Safari on their hunting trip.

This fellow appears to have his original garb. Some possible repaint to arms and legs. A finely and delicately carved animal, similar in nature to the American deer.

However, the face tends to be more chiseled with elongated horns. A difficult and seldom found Schoenhut animal especially with glass eyes.

An unidentified Safari member, he features reddish hair, a heavy mustache with mutton chops and is attired in a green cotton outfit of newer vintage.

Appears to have paint restoration to head.

Accessories are of newer vintage. It seems strange that a reindeer would be included in the Safari set, but for whatever reason the firm decided that reindeer also lived in Africa.

This particular example is a lifelike depiction with fine painting and detailing as well as sculptured leather antlers.

Appears to have old reattachment of leather antlers. The Naturalist is dressed differently than the regular Safari members, being in a green cotton outfit, as opposed to a khaki cotton outfit.

Several different mask faces were produced for a variety of members with such features as goatees, mustaches, heavy beards, etc. Unfortunately these early creations with the mask faces were particularly susceptible to paint loss, fatiguing, etc.

Enameled in two tone green paint with gold pin striping and the trademark Packard nickel plated honeycomb radiator this was the prize possession from a west coast estate collector who had searched for years to find the best possible example of a Packard pedal car. This fellow has had some paint enhancement to his head. Kermit accompanied his father, Teddy Roosevelt, to Africa. Most likely the youngest member of the Safari, this fellow has no facial hair and is dressed in the typical khaki outfit.

His official duties included being the photographer on this trip. Some paint restoration to mask face and quality replacement accessories.
